For the purposes of this Privacy Policy, unless otherwise noted, all references to CareerPuck Inc include www.careerpuck.com and CareerPuck. The CareerPuck website is a Career site. By using the CareerPuck website, you consent to the data practices described in this statement.
Collection of Anonymous Information
Puck collects personal information about people who are applying to open roles, as well as about people who are employed at our business customers, "Business Users".
Puck is not an ATS (Applicant Tracking System). The employers who work with Puck, store applicant information in Applicant Tracking Systems, along with records on the interview process. Puck passes along all candidate information to the Applicant Tracking System used by our employer partners for applicant review by our employer partners.
Collection of Anonymous Information
CareerPuck may collect anonymous demographic information, via video or text which may or may not be unique to you, such as your:• Age• Gender• Race• Religion• Political Affiliation. CareerPuck may collect demographic information, via the benefits estimator or other employment resources, such as your:• Income• Household Size and Status• Employment Status• Expected future earnings data. Please keep in mind that if you directly disclose personally identifiable information or personally sensitive data through CareerPuck's public message boards, this information may be collected and used by others.
Collection of Personal Information
For candidates, or prospective candidates, we collect information from third parties. We collect your Personal Information from your public profiles (such as professional social media, and other public platforms, data brokers, data vendors and from our business customers.
For Business Users, or employees of our business customers, we collect additional information directly from you, such as contact information, professional and employment information, your name and potentially your Puck podcast recording. We also collect passive information about your use of our employer dashboard to help us make better decisions over time.
What we do with your Personal Information
Sharing Information about Prospective Candidate Users with Third Parties
If you are a candidate, or prospective candidate, we may share your Personal Information, including contact information, employment information, demographic information and other inferred data from the prior categories with our business customers for employment recruiting purposes. Specifically, we enable our business customers and Business Users to help them find and connect with people who may be able to fill their open roles. By sharing your personal Information with our business customers, our goal is to help you be professionally successful and receive career opportunities from companies that may be of interest to you.
Sharing Information about Business Users with Third Parties
CareerPuck does not sell, rent or lease its business customer lists to third parties. CareerPuck may, from time to time, contact you on behalf of external business partners, prospective employers or hiring intermediaries about a particular offering that may be of interest to you. In those cases, your unique personally identifiable information (e-mail, name, address, telephone number) is not transferred to the third party without your consent. CareerPuck may share data with trusted partners to help perform statistical analysis, send you email or postal mail, provide customer support, or arrange for deliveries.All such third parties are prohibited from using your personal information except to provide these services to CareerPuck, and they are required to maintain the confidentiality of your information. CareerPuck may disclose your personal information, without notice, if required to do so by law or in the good faith belief that such action is necessary to: (a) conform to the edicts of the law or comply with legal process served on CareerPuck or the site; (b) protect and defend the rights or property of CareerPuck; and/or (c) act under exigent circumstances to protect the personal safety of users of CareerPuck, or the public.
Tracking User Behavior
CareerPuck may keep track of the websites and pages our users visit within CareerPuck, in order to determine what CareerPuck services are the most popular. This data is used to deliver customized content and advertising within CareerPuck to customers whose behavior indicates that they are interested in a particular subject area. Personal behavioral tracking data may include mouse movements, eye movements and video recording data, such as what you are wearing or the lighting of your video recording.
Automatically Collected Information
Information about your computer hardware and software may be automatically collected by CareerPuck. This information can include: your IP address, browser type, domain names, access times and referring website addresses. If you access our site through a mobile phone, this may include your location data. This information is used for the operation of the service, to maintain quality of the service, and to provide general statistics regarding use of the CareerPuck website.
Retention
We retain information for as long as necessary for the purposes for which it is collected, and to the extent necessary to comply with our legal obligations under applicable law. In determining how long to retain Information, we consider the sensitivity and type of information, the purpose that we’re using the information for, and applicable laws. The purposes for which we use information may require different retention periods for the same types of information. For example, we may retain your email address as an authentication credential as long as you have an active account with us and for some period after you close your account for compliance purposes.
However, information on candidates, or prospective candidates, will be retained as long as it would be useful to potential employers and recruiters. This could conceivably be for the duration of your career in the workforce, but we will not retain your data for longer than twenty years. Of course, you may request that we delete your data at any time, and we will comply with such a request within a calendar month. Although, we will attempt to do it more promptly than that, as soon as the request is received.
Please note that to verify our compliance with your request to delete your data, we may need to maintain a minimum amount of data. We will not share this information for use in our service, but solely for the compliance records that we have complied with your data deletion request.
Use of Cookies

Disconnecting your CareerPuck Account from Third Party Websites
You may be able to connect your CareerPuck account to third party accounts. BY CONNECTING YOUR CAREERPUCK ACCOUNT TO YOUR THIRD PARTY ACCOUNT, YOU ACKNOWLEDGE AND AGREE THAT YOU ARE CONSENTING TO THE CONTINUOUS RELEASE OF INFORMATION ABOUT YOU TO OTHERS (IN ACCORDANCE WITH YOUR PRIVACY SETTINGS ON THOSE THIRD PARTY SITES). IF YOU DO NOT WANT INFORMATION ABOUT YOU, INCLUDING PERSONALLY IDENTIFYING INFORMATION, TO BE SHARED IN THIS MANNER, DO NOT USE THIS FEATURE. You may disconnect your account from a third party account at any time. There are multiple ways to disconnect from 3rd party websites. These include allowing a user to delete their contact information, to delete their profiles or log onto 3rd party sites and to remove posts to those sites.
